Hi I'm Marty. My main task is to support the good and caring work done by Martin House Hospice in Wetherby, North Yorkshire, a fantastic charity providing family led care for children with life-shortening conditions. With your help I hope to boost their profile and increase the amount of money raised for this brilliant cause.
Part of my job is to travel around the world and have fun with the lovely guests from the Dean Court. I've also started writing a diary or a 'blog' (I think they call it today) letting you into my exploits and what I get up to in my spare time. It's been a fantastic few months, I've been here, there and everywhere. People are so kind that they donate to the charity and then take me on their travels.
My first night out was when I had the chance to play drums with a Blues Band, but gosh it made my wrists ache! That didn't help the golf either, playing on the Best Western Golf Day. Needless to say I didn't play very well.
I regularly go to Bannatynes Gym to keep fit now and have started a Yoga Class too. So I'll be fit enough to carry on with my travels. It is so hectic but I have had some lovely holidays to recover from my fast-paced life. I went to Cancun and Mauritius for some 'me-time' which I needed especially after that awful fright at HallowScream at York Maze. The people there were very scary on a very scary Halloween night, but it was great fun.
As you can see I have already been to some fantastic places and with your help I can go wherever I want. So when you see me in Reception please take me with you and make a donation to Martin House Hospice, a wonderful cause, thank you.
