New for this year is our Grand Festive Dinner Menu for 8 to 16 people. Sit down to a sumptuous Grand Festive Dinner served in the elegant surroundings of THE ELLEN BEST ROOM OR McLEOD SUITE. This four-course banquet features a tasting menu of the very best in local seasonal produce,including Yorkshire farm-reared venison, with (optional extra) recommended wines and live music from our resident guitarist, Andrew Clegg.
Our three-course Christmas Party Menu is equally enticing. Traditionalists can have turkey with all the trimmings, including Christmas pud, but there are plenty of alternatives for those who want something different. All our menus include vegetarian options and private dining is available in the McLeod Suite or Ellen Best Room at no extra cost.
With the magnificent York Minster as its backdrop, our Restaurant- D.C.H is the perfect setting for your celebration. Pour a drink, pull a cracker and enjoy traditional butter-roast turkey with all the trimmings. Save room, though, for our boozy chocolate and butterscotch trifle. Our three-course Christmas lunch and dinner menus are packed with creative flair, with the emphasis on local seasonal produce.
For Christmas Party Nights that really go with a swing, we at the Dean Court Hotel recommend our Private Disco Dinners, which are available for 30 or 50 guests, inclusive of our three-course Party Menu. To ensure our Christmas Parties Nights in York are a complete success, we have also put together a seasonal drinks menu, with a range of hot punches and Xmas cocktail pitchers. Drivers can try the non-alcoholic Cinderella cocktail or, if they have enjoyed a tipple or two, sleep off their excesses in one of our sumptuous bedrooms. For those who are Christmas Shopping in York œ with a festive treat to follow
York is the ideal place to do your Christmas shopping. Our hotel is just a few minutes walk away from the hidden streets and back alleys of the Snickelways, while at Goodramgate and the Shambles, you will find a fascinating array of quirky shops. Alternatively, you can do your Christmas Shopping in Yorks modern shopping centres, such as Swinegate and Coppergate, home to a wide range of chain stores and designer outlets.
In York, you will find masses to do at Yuletide, from ice-skating at Yorkshires Winter Wonderland to wreath-making in the
cathedral. Because we are so close to York Minster, Christmas visitors will
find us the perfect base for exploring the city, which becomes a magical place
in December.
Another option is to visit a Christmas Fair. York has two, with the first being a
traditional Victorian Fayre complete with costumed traders and a mediaeval
craft market in the magnificent Barley Hall. After this, there is a Christmas
Market all the way up to 23rd December.
All this Christmas shopping and sight-seeing can be hungry stuff, so why not reward yourself with a visit to our informal and relaxing Cafe-Bistro & Bar- THE COURT. Enjoy traditional Christmas treats and old time favourites; mince pies and mulled wine, maybe a glass of champagne and a slice of our very own hand-made Christmas cake?
