The BEST WESTERN PLUS Dean Court Hotel prides itself on having two fantastic eateries.
The BEST WESTERN PLUS Dean Court Hotel is the only hotel near York Minster with a history linked to the minster itself, being originally built as dwellings for the clergy. Totally renovated in 2006-8, today it is one of the best hotels in York with a standard of cuisine that’s second to none.
Winner of an AA Rosette award for 2014, elegant D.C.H the restaurant, is open for dinner every night from 7pm to 9.30pm (9pm on Sundays), and for lunch at weekends from 12.30pm to 2pm. As the only hotel restaurant in York offering views of the Minster, no other hotel in York can rival the Dean Court for its setting or cuisine, which is renowned throughout Yorkshire. Menus are dominated by fresh local produce and accompanied by the finest personally selected wines. For the comfort of other guests the hotel is non-smoking throughout.
THE COURT Cafe-Bistro and Bar offers an authentic bistro-style menu in stylish modern surroundings. Open from 9am to 10pm (6.30pm on Sundays) it offers a delicious range of cold platters, hot dishes, light snacks, sandwiches and even traditional cream and champagne teas. Really relaxing and comfortable seating with several sofas, the bar offers a pleasant place to unwind with a drink, where renowned storyteller and poet Adrian Spendlow is in residence on the second Tuesday of every month for an informal evening. Listen or join in with him.
Some 4 star hotels in York can be less than welcoming to families, but at the Dean Court you can be sure of a warm and friendly greeting. There are childrens menus available in both the D.C.H and THE COURT, with chefs who are able to rustle up almost anything on request! Full room service menus are also available with the restaurant menu itself available also (7pm-9pm) . Both eateries offer a tempting selection of dishes for vegetarians and those on specialised diets including a wide selection for Coeliac/Gluten free guests.
