Christmas Eve
Wednesday 24th December

Yorkshire Cream Tea
Afternoon Yorkshire Cream Tea is available until 5pm in The Court
Café Bistro (no tables are reserved).

Champagne & Canapé Reception – 6.30pm – 8pm
To start the holiday off in fine style, David Brooks our General
Manager invites you to the Lounge areas for a glass or two of
Champagne before dinner – whilst listening to Carols sung by
members of a local choir.

 Christmas Eve Dinner
A 4 course menu served in D.C.H. Our Head Chef and
team pride themselves in using local produce whenever possible.
If you enjoy wines, why not try a different one with each course?
We have over 20 available ‘by the glass’(wines not included in package)

Midnight Mass
At York Minster (11.30pm) & St Michael Le Belfrey (situated
opposite the hotel). Please check times with reception and arrive
well in advance, as this is an extremely popular service.

On return help yourself to a complimentary glass of mulled wine
and a mince pie to help you warm up and sleep well! (Available in
The Court Café-Bistro & Bar)

Christmas Day
Thursday 25th December

Breakfast is served from 8am until 9.30am in D.C.H
The morning is free for you to walk the City walls, stroll in the
Minster gardens or through the quaint and fascinating streets of
York at their quietest. Window shopping – and no crowds!

Grand Five Course Luncheon
At 12.15pm gather in the lounge areas for a glass or two of
Champagne before the Grand Lunch which is served in D.C.H at
12.45pm.

During Lunch Father Christmas has promised to call on us with
gifts for everyone who’s been good! After lunch relax in front of
the 30 channel TV or watch a DVD. There are also traditional
games available from Reception.

Complimentary tea and pastries are available on request between
4pm and 5.30pm.

The Evening

D.C.H Bar is open from 7pm

The hotel is open exclusively for you this evening. A relaxing evening and chance to
recover from lunch – and chat to fellow guests.

A Two Course Grand Carving Buffet is served from 7pm until 9pm
in D.C.H

Seating for this evening is not reserved or planned.

Boxing Day - A DAY OUT
Friday 26th December

Should you prefer not to join our ‘Boxing Day Out’ we are
delighted to offer you Lunch in *The Court Café-Bistro and tickets
to the Pantomime matinee performance (2.30pm). This year it is York' own notorious highway robber
Dick Turpin with York’s Panto legend, Berwick Kaler, at the Theatre Royal.
Tickets are subject to availability so please inform us as soon as
possible so that tickets may be reserved for you.

*Regrettably tables are not guaranteed or reserved in The Court – please eat as early
as possible to avoid disappointment – and the rush!

 The Evening

A Four course Menu – a fitting finale to your Christmas here at the Dean Court.

The Games People Play!
Throughout your stay various traditional board games
(chess/Scrabble etc) are available on request. DVD’s are available
free of charge over the Christmas holiday

But why not “Stay a Little Longer?”

For some this is Departure Day, but should you wish to extend
your stay there is a whole host of interesting things to do in our
lovely city. Please see our special ‘Stay Longer’ Tariff.

Our Reception team can recommend many of the City’s
attractions to you. If you opted for the Boxing Day Trip perhaps
you’d like to have seats for the *Theatre Royal’s Pantomime today
- or spend a day at Wetherby Races. Let us help with your plans –
(*we suggest you book seats as soon as possible as most
performances sell out early).

Also take advantage of the best of the best of the retail Sales! York
is full of the big name stores as well as a wonderful eclectic range
of independent stores.

Conditions of Booking & Cancellations

A 50% per person *non-returnable deposit is required
within 7 days at the time of making your reservations

*Regrettably, deposits will be retained unless the hotel is able to
re-let accommodation at a similar rate.

For reservations made after 10th September, full pre-payment is
required at time of booking and is subject to the above refund
policy

We strongly advise guests to consider Holiday Insurance against
losses incurred through forced cancellations.

We have found our plan of seating our guests with others on
larger tables works well and creates a convivial atmosphere.

There are several tables of 2 or 4 available. To assist with our
plans, you will be asked to reserve your seats and times when
making your room reservation, as all seats for meals must be
reserved in advance. (excluding Dinner 25th)

New Year Celebrations in York

What better place to see in the New Year than here at the
DEAN COURT... in the very shadow of York Minster.

The celebrations start with a specially created Dean Court Cocktail
served before a magnificent 5 Course Dinner.

Cocktail Reception from 7.15pm followed by Dinner served at
8pm. Music and Dancing from 9pm, so feel free to have a dance
between courses as well as throughout the evening.

At midnight share the magical moment by joining thousands of
revellers who gather outside the Minster to welcome in the New
Year – a unique and memorable experience! For guests’ security
the hotel doors are secured but manned from 11.45pm until 12.15am.
And we'll provide the Champagne!

Music ends at approximately 1am.

We have a limited number of tables for 2 and 4 but find couples
are happy to share larger tables on this Celebration Evening.

We’re frequently asked about Dress for this evening.
Our response is that the majority of men wear black-tie. So
ladies, if you’re looking for an occasion to wear that really ‘posh
frock’ – this is it!

Dinner Dance (only) Reservations require full pre-payment when
reserving seats. (£95 per person)

2 & 3 night Holiday reservations require a 50% Deposit at the time
of booking with full pre-payment required by October 19th. For reservations after October 19th-full pre-payment is required

Deposits and full pre-payments are non-refundable unless Hotel is
able to re-let Seats or Accommodation at the published New Year
Rates.
