Arrival Days: Wednesdays/ Fridays:
6.45pm Meet Sophie Jewett, proprietor of York Cocoa House and hotel General Manager David Brooks, for a Drinks and Canapes Reception in the Ellen Best Room, with a Chocolate Beer and Chocolate Wine tasting - plus a short presentation, to hear about your Saturday morning visit to York Cocoa House.
7.30pm Dinner in D.C.H. A special four - course Chocolate Tasting Menu compiled by the hotel's team of Chefs.
Second Days:Thursdays/Saturdays:
7.30am - 9.30am. Yorkshire Breakfast in D.C.H
11.30am -1.30pm. A visit to York Cocoa House
York Cocoa House looks forward to welcoming you, to learn the secrets of chocolate making. Learn of the origins of chocolate, how it is made from bean to bar, and then how chocolate can be transformed into delicious chocolate truffles.
Watch a demonstration of the skills of working with chocolate, and share the art of chocolate tempering, hand-dipping and packaging. And then it's your turn! Enjoy using your new-found skills to create and take home 300g of your very own gorgeous creations! You'll also be presented with recipes - with the compliments of York Cocoa House.
1.30pm - 3.15 pm Free time in the city. Take in the sights. York Minster, Castle Museum. City Walls. National Railway Museum. York Dungeon or some Retail Therapy!
3.30pm Depart from the hotel for Afternoon Cream Tea in The Mansion House or Goddard's plus a guided tour of one of these stately residences (transport provided). The Mansion House is the Lord Mayor of York's official town residence. Goddard's is the beautifully restored ancestral home of The Terry family. Now open to the public, and owned by the National Trust.
5.30pm Return to hotel. This evening is free time. Guests receive a complimentary bottle of wine per couple should they wish to eat in D.C.H or THE COURT (two courses minimum, including a main course please)

7.30am-10am. Yorkshire Breakfast in D.C.H
10.30am Meet in the hotel foyer for a 5-minute escorted walk to York's CHOCOLATE Story, York's newest visitor attraction, for a special tour exclusively for our Indulgence Break guests where youll be taken on a mouth-watering journey through the story of chocolate and confectionery in York. Learn how to taste chocolate like a true connoisseur and discover what made York the UK's centre of chocolate production. Explore the stories behind the brands we've all grown up with through meeting the founding families of York's chocolate story as well as the people of York who made, packed and shipped some of the world's favourite sweets.
12 noon. Return to hotel- and fond farewells.
